PTO
Parent - Teacher Organization
Welcome, Friends and Family, to the PTO Website for
Harmony Science Academy - Beaumont!

Many people think of parent groups as being all about
bake sales and car washes with power-tripping moms
ruling their domain from click-ish groups like you may
have seen on TV, but that's NOT us.

Harmony Science Academy PTO is about men and women
working together toward a common goal. That goal is
creating a better school and a better educational
experience for our children. We strive to create an
atmosphere where teachers and administrators can
do their best work—and so can our children.

In our first year of operation we:

As we begin our second year of operation, we are
continuing with plans to construct a playground on
campus. Many of you may have noticed the f
encing that
now block
s traffic on the right side of the school. We
are thrilled to see this reminder that soon we will
have a lovely play area for our children!

Our library is nearing completion. Thanks to the
dedication of two very special parent volunteers, the
books have been coded and shelved and w
e are
looking forward to the Grand Opening of our
library.

The other most often asked about project from last
year is the yearbook. We encountered a bit of trouble
last year, but rest assured that
last year's yearbook
has been sent to the printer and will be in your hands
as soon as possible.

As a new school, we are proud of the things we have
accomplished so far. W
e have a lot of goals still to
reach
! To do that, we need your help. Our PTO is made
up of dedicated moms and dads, uncles and aunts,
grandparents, and friends who care about children
and their education. We are welcoming and friendly. We
are your neighbors, and we share many of the same
concerns that you do.

But that’s not the only reason to take part. There
have been more than 500 independent
research studies about parent and community
involvement and The results are startling.
When parents get involved in their children’s
education, grades go up, test scores go up, children
become more likely to pass and to attend better
schools after high school. With more parental
involvement, There are fewer discipline problems and
children are less likely to use drugs and alcohol.

Volunteering does not mean a huge time commitment. An
hour or two a semester makes a big difference. We
have jobs to fit your time schedule and interests. We
even have opportunities to help that don’t involve
coming to the school at all.

Please join us, just click the link below labeled
"Contact Us" and we'll get you the information
needed.  It’s easy— and your help and participation
really does make a difference!

Thanks for working with us to create an environment
focused on bright outcomes for all of our
children's future!
